ULS IT Students Present Employee Attendance System to DICT Isabela

Students from the College of Information Technology (CIT) presented a digital employee attendance and accomplishment reporting system to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Isabela Provincial Office.

The student developers—Ver Raquepo, Marc Justine Soriano, Christian Jaylord Lumanog, and Albert Blanco—introduced the DICT Employee Attendance and Accomplishment System (DICT‑EAAS), a web‑based platform designed to support attendance monitoring and documentation processes at DICT offices.

The presentation was attended by Cirilo Gazzingan, Isabela Provincial Officer, along with DICT personnel from the Ilagan Provincial Office, Santiago City Office, and Cauayan City Office, as well as ULS faculty members.

During the session, DICT officials discussed the system’s features and provided feedback on its usability, workflow integration, and alignment with office operations.

According to the student developers, DICT‑EAAS was created to address challenges in the existing documentation process, where attendance records generated by biometric systems still require manual encoding into Daily Time Record (DTR) forms and separate preparation of accomplishment reports and related documents.

The system consolidates these processes into a single platform, allowing biometric PDF uploads, automated DTR generation, accomplishment report creation, adjustment slip processing, document compilation, and workflow routing for review and approval. It also includes monitoring features for tracking submission status and document progress.

The project followed the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework, covering planning, analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation. The system was developed using React with Vite for the frontend, Laravel for backend services, and a Python‑based module for processing biometric PDF files.

Following the presentation and feedback from DICT officials, further refinement of the system is expected as part of its continuing evaluation and potential adoption within DICT offices.
