PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The College of Business Education endeavors to produce graduates imbued with Christian leadership and values and who are adequately equipped with modern business knowledge, management skills, and competencies needed for self-employment or for employment in industry, and government thus contributing to the growth and development of the nation and of the world.

Specifically, the College of Business Education aims to:

  1. Equip students with a complete understanding and strong foundation on the concepts, principles, and best management practices in the areas of Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality, Tourism, and Office Administration to make the more globally competitive.
  2. Assist students to acquire skills in analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making essential in managing today’s complex business environment in a scenario of global competition.
  3. Expose students to the integration of academic theory and practice through research, on-the-job training, and community outreach activities to better prepare them for their chosen careers.
  4. Shape student’s high ethical standards, and live up the values of peace, reconciliation, truth, justice, innovativeness, risk-taking, civic-mindedness, and responsible citizenship.
  5. Manifest interest and concern in the major issues, thrusts, and challenges of local, national, and global economy and commits to make meaningful contributions to improve the quality of life of the community they serve.

Program Outcomes Common to Business Administration

The
graduate should be able to:

  1. articulate and discuss the latest developments in the field of practice;
  2. effectively communicate orally in writing using both English and Filipino;
  3. work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
  4. act in recognition of professional, social, and ethical responsibility;
  5. preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage”;
  6. perform the basic functions of management such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling;
  7. articulate the core values and competencies of the University both in their personal and professional lives.

Program Outcomes specific to Human Resource Management

The graduate of BSBA major in Human Resource Management should be able to:

  1. explain contemporary human resource management theories, principles, and best practices as applied to organizations;
  2. design effective human resource management strategies that are aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives;
  3. analyze the dynamics of an organization’s systems at all levels, individual, peer group, intergroup, and the total organization, thereby enabling the students to develop critical competencies required for the profession;
  4. participate effectively in the management and development of human resources in business and industry;
  5. apply research for strategic human resource decision-making.

Program Outcomes Specific to Financial Management

The graduate of BSBA major in Financial Management should be able to:

  1. demonstrate an understanding of financial management theories, principles, and best practices as applied to organizations;
  2. design effective financial management strategies that are aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives;
  3. assess the ethical, legal, and global issues that impact an organization’s financial
    position;
  4. analyze the dynamics of an organization’s system enabling them to develop critical
    competencies for employment and assume entry-level positions for various
    careers in financial management; and,
  5. apply research for strategic financial management decision-making.

Program Outcomes Specific to Marketing Management

The graduate of BSBA major in Marketing Management should be able to:

  1. demonstrate an understanding of marketing management theories, principles, and best practices as applied to organizations;
  2. design effective marketing management strategies that are aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives;
  3. craft and implement a comprehensive business plan to assist existing business or as
    start-ups;
  4. analyze the dynamics of an organization’s system enabling them to develop critical
    competencies for employment and assume entry-level positions for various careers in the field of marketing; and,
  5. apply technology and research for strategic marketing management decision-making.

Program Outcomes Specific to BS Office Administration

The graduate of the program should be able to:

  1. provide general administrative and clerical support to high-level executives guided by the Code of Ethics for Office Professionals;
  2. coordinate office management activities;
  3. manage office communications;
  4. organize files, information, and office supplies effectively;
  5. exhibit acceptable human relations skills in a divers environment; and,
  6. engage in lifelong learning to keep abreast of the development in the international
    employment market.

Program Outcomes Common to Tourism and Hospitality

The
graduate should be able to:

  1. demonstrate knowledge of the tourism industry, local tourism products, and services;
  2. interpret and apply relevant laws related to the tourism industry
  3. observe and perform risk mitigation activities;
  4. utilize information technology applications for tourism and hospitality;
  5. manage and market a service-oriented business organization;
  6. demonstrate administrative and managerial skills in a service-oriented business organization;
  7. prepare and monitor industry-specific financial transactions and reports;
  8. perform human capital development functions of a tourism-oriented organization; and,
  9. utilize various communication channels proficiently in dealing with guests and colleagues.

Program Outcomes Specific to BS Hospitality Management

The
graduate of the program should be able to:

  1. produce food products and services complying with enterprise standards;
  2. apply management skills in food and beverage service and operations;
  3. perform and provide full guest cycle services for the front office;
  4. perform and maintain various housekeeping services for guest and facility operations;
  5. plan and implement a risk management program to provide a safe and secure workplace; and,
  6. provide food and beverage service and manage the operation seamlessly based on industry standards.

Program Outcomes Specific to BS Tourism Management

The graduate of the program should be able to:

  1. plan, implement, and monitor tours and sales activities;
  2. research, plan, and conduct various tour guiding activities;
  3. develop appropriate marketing programs and arrange the required travel services;
  4. plan, organize, implement, and evaluate meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition activities; and,
  5. plan, develop and evaluate tourism sites and attractions
