ULS Receives Award of Appreciation at CAVRAA LGU Night

The University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) received an Award of Appreciation during the CAVRAA LGU Night held on April 14, 2026, at the Santiago City Sports Arena, recognizing the university’s support and participation in the successful staging of the Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) Meet 2026.

Earlier, Santiago City Mayor Atty. Sheena Tan acknowledged ULS—particularly its College of Information Technology—as an official partner of the regional meet, citing the institution’s role in developing the Electronic Sports Records and Results System (ESRRS) used during the competition.

Developed by on‑the‑job trainees from the College of Information Technology, the ESRRS served as a digital platform for posting and managing competition results, providing live updates and medal standings during the meet from April 12 to 14. The system displayed real‑time results for both regular and para games across participating divisions, including Isabela, Cagayan, Quirino, Santiago City, Nueva Vizcaya, Cauayan City, Ilagan City, Batangas, and Tuguegarao City.

The platform allowed users to monitor events based on status—upcoming, ongoing, finished, or delayed—with details on event classification, division, and schedule. It also enabled tracking of individual athlete performances and medal tallies through a publicly accessible online interface.

According to the project team, the system was designed to improve the timeliness and organization of result reporting by coordinating data capture and validation with tournament officials prior to public release.

The project was led by Chairman Nor Aldeen Quadommi and Vice‑Chairman Ricardo Cabugao, with support from Andrew Toribio Taaca, Kristian Saccuan, and Jayward Bucayu. Student developers Bryan Lloyd Tan, Timothy John Lardizabal, Gano Spencer Chumilang, and Ellisson Sebastian handled system development and implementation, with guidance from regional and division education officials.

In addition to the institutional recognition, Dr. Bienvenido B. Abad Jr. was cited for his role as Senior Technical Consultant, while John Louis Domincel was recognized for providing technical support. The student developers were also acknowledged for their contributions.

Representatives from ULS received the award on behalf of the university and expressed appreciation for the recognition, noting the institution’s continuing partnership with local and regional stakeholders.
