ILOILO CITY — Mr. Bernard Joseph L. Ariola, LPT, CHRA, Director of the Community Extension Program of the La Salette Pananagutan Center, served as one of the resource speakers at the 2025 Volunteerism Focal Point System (VFPS) Summit held from December 2 to 5 at the University of San Agustin, Iloilo City.




Ariola was invited to present the University’s best practices in volunteerism during one of the concurrent sessions of the national summit, themed “From Collaboration to Impact: Driving Sustainable Development through Stronger Partnerships in Volunteerism.”
The summit gathered volunteerism focal persons, partner institutions, and community development professionals nationwide to discuss strategies in strengthening partnerships and enhancing volunteer-driven initiatives aligned with sustainable development goals.
In his presentation, Mr. Ariola outlined the volunteerism framework of the University, noting that service at ULS is anchored in the spirit of pananagutan—a genuine sense of responsibility for others. He highlighted the role of the Community Extension Program and the Salettinian Volunteers Association (SVA) in coordinating service-learning and outreach initiatives that engage students, employees, and alumni in meaningful community work.
