The University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) formally launched the Salettinian SDG Center on October 13, 2025, at the Ground Floor of the Center for Professional Development Building. Present during the event were the university administrators, faculty members, student leaders and volunteers from various departments.
In her keynote message, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Madeilyn B. Estacio emphasized the importance of integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the university’s academic programs, research, and community initiatives.
“This is not just the opening of a new facility; it is the beginning of a stronger commitment to form students and researchers who help build a compassionate, sustainable world,” Dr. Estacio said.
Dr. Estacio also announced the appointment of Bernard Joseph L. Ariola, LPT, CHRA, Director of the La Salette Pananagutan Center, as the focal person of the Salettinian SDG Center.
The blessing of the new facility was led by Rev. Fr. Joey Balunsat, M.S., Chaplain of the Basic Education Department. Among the virtual attendees were Mr. Donald James Gawe, CESO III, Executive Director of the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA); Dr. Carl E. Balita, Founder of the Carl Balita Review Center; Mr. Dionisio C. Ledres Jr., Regional Director of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Region 2; and Dr. Arnaud Peral, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations Philippines.
The establishment of the center aims to promote awareness, collaboration, and action toward sustainability, reinforcing the university’s commitment to holistic education and social responsibility.
