SANTIAGO CITY, PHILIPPINES – The University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) community demonstrated the true meaning of Christmas through its recent fundraising initiative, ULS Paskuhan 2024. The event, themed “Tayo Ang Simbolo ng Paskong Saletino,” was a resounding success, raising a total of Php150,000.00.
A significant portion of the funds will be allocated to Jaderiel Seth A. Aquino, a Grade 6 student from the ULS Grade School Department bravely battling malignant spindle cell neoplasm/osteoscarcome.
The remaining funds of the fundraising initiative will benefit selected beneficiaries from Brgy. Nabuan, Santiago City, the University’s adopted barangay. Through the La Salette Pananagutan Center (LSPC) together with Salettinian Volunteers and Extension Coordinators, they serve as key players in the University’s community engagement efforts and play a crucial role in identifying the most deserving beneficiaries. By collaborating with the local community, the Center ensured that the funds would be utilized to address pressing needs.
The ULS Paskuhan 2024, held on December 6, 2024, at the University Gymnasium, brought together students, faculty, staff, and alumni in a festive celebration of giving and solidarity. Through various activities and performances, the event highlighted the Salettinian values of compassion, service, and solidarity.
The culmination of this initiative will be the “ULS Alay sa Belen: A Tradition of Love and Service” program on December 22, 2024. During this event, the collected funds and donated goods will be distributed to the beneficiaries in Brgy. Nabuan, Santiago City.
This successful fundraising drive and community engagement initiative underscore the University’s commitment to making a positive impact on society. By supporting those in need and promoting social justice, ULS continues to embody its mission of fostering holistic development and empowering individuals to become agents of change.
