CIT students develop ESRRS for CAVRAA 2026

Four students from the College of Information Technology (CIT) of the University of La Salette, Inc., helped create the Electronic Sports Records and Results System (ESRRS) that is now being utilized at the Cagayan Valley Athletic Association (CAVRAA) Meet 2026 in Santiago City, Isabela from April 12-16, 2026.

Bryan T. Tan, Timothy John Lardizabal, Gano Spencer Chumilang, and Ellison G. Sebastian, 4th-year student interns at the Schools Division Office of Santiago City, designed and developed a platform to fast track the recording, processing and reporting of sports results.

ESRRS enables real-time encoding of scores and fast generation of official reports during the CAVRAA Meet 2026 making it easier for officials, coaches, and athletes to access the results, reduce delay, and minimize errors associated with manual processes.

Ricardo B. Cabugao Jr., the Information Technology Officer from the Department of Education (DepEd), initiated and guided the students together with Bienvenido Abad Jr., DIT, King Christian Antonio, and John Louis Dominicel from the CIT department, who gave their support and expertise for the system’s successful development and implementation.

The system also underwent consultations with the the CAVRAA organizing committee and the DepEd Regional Office II to ensure accuracy, usability, and alignment with official requirements.
