Thus said by Marc Angelo Martinez, the current President of the Student Volunteers’ Association of the university and the Associate Editor of The Salettinian, one of the selected delegates when asked about the said summit. Along with him, Jemerson Eugenio, the Student Executive Council Press Information Officer and the News Editor of The Salettinian also passed the selection of delegates.
Among 200 delegates who qualify, Martinez was selected to participate in the track, governance, and diplomacy while Eugenio will take part in environment and sustainability. They will be representing the University of La Salette and the Philippines to the said forum intended for Southeast Asian countries.
AYES is an annual summit spearheaded by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations to launch an open forum and discussions on matters revolving governance and diplomacy, humanitarian assistance, health and social policy, business affairs and trade, and environment and sustainability.
This year, AYES will happen in the University of Santo Tomas and Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila on November 26-29, 2017.
