ULS Conducts Project Tanglaw: The ULS Career Talk 2026

The Human Development Center (HDC) of the University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS), in collaboration with the Social Security System (SSS), Pag‑IBIG Fund, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO)–Santiago City, conducted “#Tanglaw: The ULS Career Talk 2026” for graduating students on May 15 at the ULS New Gymnasium.

Carrying the theme “Illuminating Futures, Empowering Choices,” the activity aimed to prepare graduating students for employment by familiarizing them with essential government agencies and workplace requirements.

John Mark I. Ilagan, regional communications officer of the SSS, together with Pag‑IBIG Fund officers Robert John B. Duerme I and Ronnie R. Mariano, discussed their respective services, benefits, and the process of online account registration.

Meanwhile, Denalyn L. Pattalitan and Zairyn Joy J. Agpalza‑Villanueva presented the advantages of PhilHealth membership and explained the agency’s services for specific health needs.

PESO Special Operations Officer Jayson R. Benavize, LPT, JD, oriented students on labor laws, employment requirements, and job‑application documents such as cover letters, résumés, and curriculum vitae.

“Life is not a race,” said Chloe Neziah B. Mandac‑Pariñas, RPm, RPsy, during her keynote address titled “Nurturing Mental Wellness for Career Transition,” where she emphasized self‑care, healthy coping mechanisms, and emotional regulation in the workplace.

In his closing remarks, John Noel E. Fermin, Director of Human Resource Management, reminded students to remain humane and empathetic, saying, “Success should not cost your humanity.”

Dr. Madeilyn B. Estacio, Vice President for Academic Affairs, underscored the significance of the activity, noting that the university seeks not only to prepare students for employment but also to help them thrive in their future careers.

The career talk was also one of the university’s entries for the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), highlighting the integration of mental health awareness as a key component of career preparation.
