ULS Faculty Attend SDG-focused Development Program

Faculty members, along with program chairs and deans, participated in a Faculty Development Program on integrating sustainability and community engagement on January 10, 2026, at the 3rd floor of the Center for Professional Development (CPD) Building.

The program, themed “Curriculum for Change: Empowering Learners through SDG-Driven Service Learning,” aimed to strengthen the integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into academic instruction through service learning.

Dr. Ronnie Espergal Pasigui, vice-president for Research, Planning and Development, and Extension of the University of Cagayan Valley, served as the resource speaker.

Pasigui led a workshop that focused on redesigning learning plans by aligning course learning outcomes with relevant SDGs. The session emphasized beginning with theories taught in the classroom and applying them to community-based activities.

Participants were guided on how to realign original learning outcomes of course subjects to ensure that academic content is connected to specific SDGs and responsive to community needs.
