ULS Conducts Hygiene Project

SANTIAGO CITY – The Student Executive Council, in collaboration with the College of Medicine and Allied Medical Programs and the College of Nursing, Public Health, and Midwifery, spearheaded an outreach program on proper hygiene held at Nabbuan Integrated School (NIS) on November 24, 2025.

Volunteers from ULS taught Kinder to Grade 10 students the proper ways of washing hands, brushing teeth, and covering their mouths when coughing or sneezing through classroom demonstrations.

“Masaya po at maganda dahil marami po kaming natutunan sa mga itinuro po ng mga ate,” said Renella June V. Pawal, a Grade 7 student of NIS, as she expressed appreciation for the activity.

Students also received hygiene kits donated by the Salettinian community, containing soap, alcohol, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tissues, and facemasks.

Dolores V. Ruiz, a teacher from NIS, thanked the organizers and noted the program’s positive effect on the learners. “Nakikita na natutuwa po ang mga bata sa mga natanggap po nilang hygiene kit na makakatulong sa pagpapanatili ng malusog at maayos na kalusugan at kalinisan sa kanilang katawan,” she said.

The activity served as Phase 2 of the Project Hygiene and Social Etiquette Seminar participated in by 1st year students at Hospital Building A and the Center for Professional Development Building last November 22.

The program forms part of the University’s Wellness Program, which aims to promote a healthier, more resilient, and empowered community.
