SANTIAGO CITY — The University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) conducted its annual Earthquake and Fire Drill today, October 22, at the University Open Field to enhance disaster preparedness among Salettinian students and personnel.

Prior to the drill, a command conference was held on October 20, led by Rev. Fr. Pedro Q. Dolar, MS, MA and Mr. Dionisio Carpio, MAEd, to finalize plans and coordinate responsibilities for the university-wide safety exercise.
The activity forms part of the Safety and Security Team’s yearlong plan to enhance the university’s capacity for emergency preparedness and response. The team is an interdepartmental initiative composed of key university units, including the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) Interns, Health Services Department, Prefect of Discipline, Safety and Security Office, ULSEA, Non-Teaching Personnel (NTP), ULS Volunteers, and other supporting groups.
Students from different college departments, along with senior high school students, non-teaching personnel, and food vendors, participated in the simulation, which demonstrated proper evacuation procedures and safety measures during earthquakes and fire incidents.
ULS Red Cross Youth Volunteers also assisted throughout the drill, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
The activity highlights the university’s continuing commitment to fostering a culture of safety, awareness, and collective responsibility in times of disaster.
