Empowering Future Digital Leaders: DTI and ULS Equip Young Entrepreneurs with Online Marketing Skills

SANTIAGO CITY – In a significant step towards fostering student development in entrepreneurship, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Isabela -Santiago City Satellite Office, in collaboration with the University of La Salette, Inc.-College of Business Education (CBE), conducted the fourth learning session of the Kapatid Mentor Youth Entrepreneurs (KMYE) 5.0: Building Opportunities for Startups’ Success (BOSS) Program on May 9, 2025.

Focusing on enhancing the skills and knowledge of young aspiring entrepreneurs, this session specifically addressed the critical area of Digital and Social Media Marketing. The seminar aimed to empower students with the essential tools and practical strategies needed to establish a strong online presence, expand their market reach, and succeed in today’s digitally-driven business environment.

Dr. Agnes C. Ambrocio, Dean of the CBE, emphasized the importance for students to remain relevant in the digital age and effectively integrate online strategies to maximize their business potential. Ms. Maria Kristine T. Valdez from DICT Isabela provided a comprehensive overview of leveraging platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube for brand building, audience engagement, and sales generation. Her insights into cost-efficient tools and content strategies offered, valuable, practical knowledge directly applicable to student-led micro and small enterprises.

Ms. Shynne Cecille C. Arao of DTI Santiago City underscored the value of digital literacy for the participating youth, encouraging them to actively utilize digital platforms to grow and sustain their entrepreneurial ventures. Looking ahead, the KMYE 5.0: BOSS program will continue to support student development through upcoming activities such as a Trade-Fair cum MOA Signing and Pitching and Coaching. Sessions.

These initiatives will provide tangible opportunities for students to showcase their products, establish crucial business connections, and refine their business ideas with expert guidance, further solidifying their journey towards becoming successful entrepreneurs.
