ULS participates in ACUP National Conference 2026

The University of La Salette, Inc., joined the Association of Catholic Universities of the Philippines (ACUP) National Conference 2026, with the theme “Response of Catholic Higher Educational Institutions to the Philippine Educational Crisis,” held at Ateneo de Naga University, Camarines Sur, last March 12-14, 2026.

Mr. Christian Paul Torres, Prefect of Discipline, and Mr. Bernard Joseph Ariola, Director of La Salette Pananagutan Center, represented the school in the three-day event together with the administrators, educators, and student leaders from different catholic schools in the country.

This year’s conference emphasized the need for renewal and rediscovery as Rev. Fr. Richard Ang, OP, ACUP President and University of Santo Tomas Rector, stated in his welcome remarks saying, “With renewed conviction and shared responsibility, may this conference inspire a united commitment among Catholic higher educational institutions in the Philippines to become authentic bearers of truth, stewards of justice, and heralds of hope for the nation and the world.”

Delegates also participated in seminars, workshops and a tree planting activity in support for the re-greening and water retention project at Barangay Carolina, Naga with over 200 saplings planted at the “Forest in Our Midst” site.

This conference reinforced the ACUP’s mission of providing quality Catholic education among Higher Education Institutions in response to the country’s educational crisis.
