ULS Holds Faculty Development Session on Responsible AI Use

SANTIAGO CITY — The University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) opened the first day of its Faculty Development Series today, October 23, 2025, at the 2nd Floor of the ULS Graduate School–Center for Professional Development, with the theme “Balancing Humanity and Technology: Responsible AI Use in the Classroom.”

In her statement of purpose and message, Dr. Madeilyn B. Estacio, Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized that the event forms part of the University’s continuing commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching and learning. She also underscored the importance of adapting to the rapid technological changes brought about by artificial intelligence.

Dr. Bienvenido B. Abad Jr., DIT, Director of the Educational Management Information System (EMIS), served as the resource speaker. His discussion focused on the ethical and responsible use of AI in education and introduced the University’s official AI partner, Copilot/Microsoft 365.

The program was attended by faculty members from various departments and will continue tomorrow for its second day.
