University of La Salette Recognized for Outstanding Blood Donation Contributions (2022-2024)

Santiago City, Cagayan Valley, Philippines – The University of La Salette, Inc. has been honored with  the “Outstanding Award for Academe” by the Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development, in collaboration with the Southern Blood Services Zone and the National Voluntary Blood Services Program. The award recognizes the university’s exceptional contribution and unwavering support to the National Voluntary Blood Services Program, achieving the highest number of blood donations between 2022 and 2024.

Through its flagship blood donation program, “Dugong Saletino,” the University of La Salette, Inc. has significantly contributed to the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals). The “Dugong Saletino” program remains steadfast in its mission and service to the community.

The blood donation initiatives are spearheaded by the University’s College of Medicine and Allied Medical Programs (CMAMP) under the dedicated leadership of its College Dean, Marisa S. Tan, RMT, RN, MSPH. The sustained success of the program is a testament to the strong collaboration and organization of the CMAMP faculty, Student Volunteers Association, CMAMP Executive Government and partnership with (SIMC) Southern Isabela Medical Center.

The University of La Salette, Inc. received this prestigious award during the 3rd Southern Blood Services Zone Sandugo Recognition and Awarding Ceremony held on March 27, 2025, at the Lower Magat Eco Tourism Park in Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya.

This recognition underscores the University of La Salette, Inc.’s commitment to community engagement and its vital role in supporting crucial health initiatives within the Cagayan Valley region and beyond.
