The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) conducted its first-ever virtual inspection and monitoring of the Social Work Program of the University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) on April 22, 2025.
Leading the online evaluation were Hon. Fe Sinsona of the Professional Regulatory Board for Social Work and Mr. Jack Wassig, PRC Regional Representative. The inspection aimed to assess the program’s compliance with national standards and regulatory requirements.
Representing ULS were key academic officials, including Ms. Madeilyn B. Estacio, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Ms. Aimee Calingasan, MA.Ed., Officer-in-Charge Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Ms. Aireen Gazmen, MSSW, and Ms. Rizza Mae Escobido, MSSW, Social Work faculty members; and Ms. Vanessa Victorio, ULS Librarian.
During the briefing, Hon. Sinsona provided an overview of the requirements and standards for Social Work education, as guided by CHED Memorandum Order No. 39, Series of 2017, and Republic Act No. 10847. She emphasized the importance of aligning the program’s curriculum and practices with national benchmarks and offered some recommendations to enhance the program.
This virtual inspection marks a significant step in ensuring the quality and continuous improvement of Social Work education at the University of La Salette.
