SANTIAGO CITY — The University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) welcomed accreditors from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) for a comprehensive institutional accreditation visit from February 26 to 28.

PACUCOA Chairman Dr. Ferdinand Somido said the purpose of the visit was to assist the university in its continuous improvement rather than to find faults.
“We are your big brothers, we are your big sisters. We are not here to mock you, we are not here to belittle you, and we are not here to find faults,” Somido said.
“We are here to find what you have, so that we can help you become a better university.”
Throughout the evaluation period, PACUCOA accreditors conducted document analyses, classroom observations, and closed‑door interviews with selected students from various academic programs, as well as with teaching and non‑teaching personnel.
Academic areas such as extension services, research productivity, and curriculum relevance were closely examined by the evaluators to assess institutional performance.
Facilities including laboratories, libraries, and learning resource centers were also inspected to determine their adequacy in supporting student development.
Each academic program was evaluated based on PACUCOA standards to ensure a systematic and objective review process.
Following the evaluation, a post‑conference was held at Casa Jardin by Zen along Patul Road, attended by PACUCOA accreditors, ULS administrators, deans, office heads, and program coordinators.
University President Rev. Fr. Franklin G. Picio, MS, PhD, emphasized that accreditation is more than a procedural requirement, describing it as part of the university’s continuing mission toward academic excellence.
