The College of Accountancy (COA) Extension Unit spearheaded the Community-Based Financial Literacy Program for barangay council members of Nabbuan at the Sangguniang Bayan, Barangay Nabbuan, last February 16, 2026.
John Paul Pascual, Melany Shamier Soriano, and Daryl Esteban served as volunteer resource speakers of the activity and discussed topics on budgeting, financial planning, and prudent fund management.
This activity aims to increase awareness of potential, and promote transparency, accountability, and sound financial stewardship within the barangay administration.
The program is a follow-up activity after the implementation of a similar session on Financial Literacy and Safeguards for FinTech for the teachers of Nabbuan Integrated School.
