The University of La Salette, Inc. held a Thanksgiving Mass on June 25, 2024, to commemorate the 26th anniversary of its university charter. The mass, held at the ULS Center for Professional Development Building, was attended by ULS employees and students.
During the thanksgiving mass, the holy gospel imparts a vital lesson about discernment, a skill crucial for navigating life’s intricate challenges. It compels man to be faithful stewards of his beliefs and live with purpose. This requires choosing the path of kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Man should recognize and appreciate differing perspectives while prioritizing a path that aligns with faith and values, even when it demands sacrifice.
The University President, Rev. Fr. Franklin G. Picio, MS, PhD, delivered a message during his homily encouraging everyone to continue striving for educational excellence. He emphasized the importance of producing competitive graduates, such as regional and national topnotchers in board exams, who are well-rounded individuals shaped by transformative education principles.
Fr. Picio also acknowledged the remarkable dedication and loyalty of the University’s employees. He expressed his deep gratitude to those who have served the institution for 30 years, and especially recognized those who have continued their commitment well beyond the traditional retirement age. This long tenure, he said, is a testament to their unwavering commitment to the University’s mission. He also expressed his gratitude to the top administrators, deans, department heads, faculty and staff, students, parents, and stakeholders for their loyalty and service to the university. He also emphasized that, as part of the university’s tradition of recognizing exemplary service, a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in France will be offered to faculty and staff who have demonstrated outstanding loyalty to the university.
This celebration marks another milestone for the University of La Salette, Inc., solidifying its commitment to providing quality and transformative education and shaping future generations of leaders imbued with the university’s core values: faith, reconciliation, integrity, excellence, and solidarity.
